Happy St. Patrick's Day!

In Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is a religious holiday and workplaces are closed. People really make a much bigger deal out of the day here in America than they do in Ireland. Greg went into Cork (the second-largest city in the Republic of Ireland, near Kinsale) to a St. Patrick's Day parade, which he said was actually pretty lame. He said people wore hats and had their faces painted; some people wear green and shamrocks and all that jazz.

The main event of his day was "Gregortizing" the apartment, as he called it...giving it a good cleaning to bring it up to his standards. He reported that he had Oreos and a banana for dinner; sounds like a good dinner to me! Here are some random pictures of Irish groceries he bought that I took over Skype (hopefully soon he'll e-mail me some real pictures he's taken that I can post!). Did you know that you have to pay for your bags over there? Guess you'd better take your own!

Tomorrow is his first day at work. This weekend he's hoping to explore the town more, so hopefully I'll be able to share a good post then!
