Just a Bunch of Pictures

All In a Morning's Work

This morning we walked to the park and played for an hour, early, while it was still cool and overcast.  We had the park all to ourselves and the morning was lovely.  Davis wanted to swing - and swing - and swing - until my arms were tired and it was starting to heat up and he was still saying, "Push, Mommy!"

We came home and had a snack and read a stack of about 10 library books.  Then Davis got out the crayons and picked through them to find all the yellow ones.  Then I had him find all the yellow play foods and add them to the collection.

We got out some sidewalk chalk and Davis enjoyed decorating the patio and having me trace his hands and feet.  He also enjoyed looking at the ants and bugs, which fascinate him (although recently, he discovered an ant crawling on his arm and immediately jumped into my arms saying "ant hurt me!").

Look, Grandma, I am wearing the shorts you made for me!

We also spent some time playing in the sandbox.  Davis enjoys transferring the sand from one container to another and pouring it to make the wheels spin.

I undressed him down to his diaper afterwards, since his clothes had chalk and sand on them, and let him play inside while I made lunch.  Pretty soon a naked little boy came running into the kitchen!  He thought he was pretty hilarious for taking off his diaper and had a great time streaking around the house being chased by Mommy.

All in a morning's work for a 2 year old!

Because I Can't Resist

Because I just can't resist a picture of a toddler on the potty, and because Davis is too young to protest my sharing them . . .

I am SO NOT READY for potty training, but Davis has occasionally been asking to go potty lately, so when he does, or says he needs to go, I've been taking him and he likes to sit there (especially when he's trying to stall bedtime).  The first time he asked, he went #1 on the toilet (I was surprised!), and on Saturday night he went #2 (I was VERY surprised!).  Only time will tell if this little guy has it in his head to start potty training earlier than I have ever intended, but for now, I just think he's so stinking cute sitting up there like a big boy!
