Tennessee Top Ten

Hi, this is Davis.  Mommy asked me tell you about our vacation.  We went to Tennessee, and Grandma and Grandpa and my aunts and uncles and cousins from Daddy's side of the family all went, too!  Mommy did not think it was very relaxing to take me on vacation, but we had so much fun anyway!

Of course, my favorite thing about our vacation was getting to play with my cousins and the rest of my family.  I even got to see some extended family while we were there.  Besides that, these were my favorite things about my vacation (in no particular order):

1. Our cabin.  It was up in the mountains and had nice views.  I loved going up and down all the stairs inside, and walking around exploring everything.

2. My new shoes.  Mommy and Daddy bought them for me as soon as we got there.  They are my first real pair of shoes.  I like them because now Mommy and Daddy let me walk around more places.  Do you think I look cute in my big boy shoes?

3. Walking around Gatlinburg.  I love to people-watch, and there are a lot of people to watch in Gatlinburg and fun things to see.

4. Cade's Cove.  I went on this scenic drive with Mommy and Daddy.  We saw old cabins, churches, a mill, and some other buildings.  We did not see a bear, though - only deer.  Oh well.

5. Hiking to Laurel Falls, in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  This was my first waterfall!  The trail was paved, so Daddy and Mommy could push me in the stroller.  It was so exciting and exhausting that I took a little snooze on the way back down!  All the other hikers thought I was so adorable.  :)

6. Trying new things.  Daddy let me have a few bites of a powdered doughnut, and Uncle Jeff let me sip his slushie.  Yummy!

7. Going to the Aquarium of the Smokies.  Mommy and Daddy thought it was too expensive, but at least I got in free!  I liked to look at the fish and everything, but my favorite part was the stickers they gave me.  We walked through a tunnel where there were sharks swimming all around us, but I didn't even look at the sharks because I was so busy with my sticker.

8. Dixie Stampede.  It's a good thing Daddy had seen that show before, because he missed most of it since I was getting restless and he had to take me out to the lobby.  But Mommy really enjoyed it!  I loved seeing the horses!!!

9. Going to Asheville.  We went to North Carolina to visit Great-Grandpa.  I thought the nursing home was a lot of fun because it has a lot of long halls that I could walk down!  I made a lot of nurses and old ladies smile as I walked around the hallways.  After our visit, we went to get a family picture taken.  We all wore shirts with our names on them.  It was a big challenge for me to stay still and get some good pictures - I just wanted to walk around the picture studio and play!

10. The playplace in the mall in Lexington, Kentucky.  We stopped here on the way home to break up the drive and give me a chance to stretch my legs and play.  This may have been my favorite thing from the whole vacation.  I had a huge grin on my face, walking, climbing, and playing.  It was soooo much fun!  I did not want to stop playing long enough for Mommy to take any good pictures of me.

So there you have it!  Mommy and Daddy took me on my first vacation, and I had so much fun!
