| Today marks a milestone. Baby is now at 23 weeks gestation. That's a milestone because babies born at 23 weeks can *sometimes* survive. Sometimes may not sound like much, but it's kind of comforting nonetheless to know that, if we ended up with a super-preemie, there would now at least be a chance at life. If a baby is born at 24 weeks, there is a greater than 50/50 chance of survival, and the odds get better with each additional week of gestation. Naturally, we are praying for (and expecting to get) 17 more weeks of baking before our baby joins us out in the wide world. But 23 weeks is still an important milestone that I have been looking forward to throughout this whole pregnancy, so today is a little bit of a landmark day. ![]() |
